National Tube Supply Strives for Efficiency

National Tube Supply continues to expand its value added capabilities by bringing the total number of saws in the 250,000 square foot facility in University Park, IL to fourteen, one of which is a high speed cold saw capable of cutting up to 6" diameter.  The rapid growth over the last few years has NTS constantly looking for ways to be more efficient.  The cold saw will greatly improve efficiency with the high volume cutting orders that has had a tendency to tie up multiple saws in the past.

Another improvement in efficiency is the addition of 500 product locations.  This was achieved by making a few adjustments in the layout of the north bay and now gives NTS over 4600 locations for DOM and CDS.  This was necessary as NTS continues to add sizes in those products so as to better serve the market.

One other minor change that is sure to contribute major efficiency is the increased cycle count to keep track of the massive inventory NTS enjoys.  This will insure better inventory accuracy and thus better service for NTS's ever expanding customer base.
